Terms of Service
Pet care policies, your rights, and our commitments to you and your pet
Website Usage
This website is provided by Happy Paws Pet Care for informational purposes about our pet care services, team, and policies. By accessing and using this website, you agree to these terms and conditions.
Vaccination Requirements
All pets must meet our vaccination requirements before participating in grooming, daycare, or boarding services. This protects the health and safety of every animal in our care. By booking services with us, you confirm that your pet's vaccinations are current and agree to provide documentation upon request. Our trained, caring staff is dedicated to your pet's comfort and safety, but individual animal responses to group settings can vary. We reserve the right to separate or discontinue services for any animal displaying aggressive behavior that poses a risk to staff or other animals.
Required vaccinations vary by service:
- Dogs — Grooming: Rabies, DHPP (Distemper-Hepatitis-Parvovirus-Parainfluenza), Bordetella
- Dogs — Boarding & Daycare: Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella (within the past 6 months for daycare)
- Cats — Grooming & Boarding: Rabies, FVRCP (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis-Calicivirus-Panleukopenia)
Vaccination records must be provided at or before the first visit. We reserve the right to refuse service to any animal whose vaccination status cannot be verified. This requirement exists to protect every animal in our care.
Emergency Care Authorization
By booking services at Happy Paws Pet Care, you authorize our staff to seek emergency veterinary care for your pet if we are unable to reach you or your designated emergency contact and your pet requires immediate medical attention.
In a medical emergency, we will:
- Attempt to contact you and your emergency contact immediately
- Transport your pet to the nearest emergency veterinary facility if needed
- Share your pet's known health information with treating veterinary staff
- Document and notify you of all actions taken as soon as possible
You are responsible for all veterinary costs incurred in the course of emergency care. We strongly encourage all pet owners to maintain current pet insurance or a dedicated emergency care fund.
Pick-Up & Drop-Off Policy
To maintain a structured and safe environment for all animals in our care, we ask that you observe the following pick-up and drop-off guidelines:
- Drop-off is available when we open. Please arrive within 30 minutes of your scheduled drop-off time.
- Pick-up must be completed before closing time. Late pick-up fees may apply for retrievals after our closing time.
- If you anticipate being late, please call us as soon as possible so we can make appropriate arrangements for your pet.
- Only authorized individuals listed on your pet's profile may drop off or pick up your animal. Photo ID may be requested.
Behavioral Assessment
All new daycare participants must pass a complimentary behavioral assessment before joining group play. This assessment helps us ensure safe and appropriate group placements for every dog.
We reserve the right to separate or remove any animal from group settings if they display aggressive behavior that poses a risk to staff or other animals. In such cases, we will contact you immediately and discuss alternative care arrangements.
Separation from group settings does not constitute grounds for a refund of prepaid services unless the behavioral issue was known and concealed at the time of booking.
Appointment & Cancellation Policy
We reserve time and staff specifically for each pet's appointment. To respect our team's schedule and allow us to serve other animals, we ask for at least 24 hours' notice for any cancellation or reschedule.
- Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a fee of up to 50% of the scheduled service.
- No-shows (missed appointments without any notice) may be subject to a fee of up to 100% of the scheduled service.
- Boarding cancellations within 48 hours of the check-in date may forfeit the first night's fee.
- We understand emergencies happen — please call us as soon as possible if your plans change unexpectedly.
Health & Liability
We take every precaution to maintain a healthy, safe environment for all animals in our care. However, group settings carry inherent risks of disease transmission, minor injuries during play, and stress-related reactions. By using our services, you acknowledge these inherent risks.
Our trained, caring staff follows established safety protocols to minimize risk. We are not liable for pre-existing medical conditions or for illness that develops after your pet's departure from our facility.
